PHILTRUM, PA - A local man who publicly questioned the fitness of President Bush Jr. and his advisers to run the country has been stoned to death.
Peter Murtaugh, 27, was overheard in a neighborhood pharmacy suggesting that policies and actions of the Bush Jr. administration may have harmed the country, rather than making America stronger, as all right-thinking people believe. The owner of the business immediately locked Murtaugh in the building and called the local police, who rounded up a vigilante force and later assisted the mob in dragging the man into the middle of Main Street , where he was pummeled with large rocks and chunks of macadam.
“We did what we had to do to protect our democracy,” one of the policemen said. He declined to give his name on the grounds that it was his right to kill any journalist who so much as looked at him the wrong way.
