BEAVER HAVEN, MN - Residents here were riveted for several days last week by the plight of what was believed to be a fairly large carp that swam several dozen yards up into a creek feeding nearby Lake Martha. Some citizens, concerned that the fish might have been frightened from the lake by the hoopla surrounding a weekend canoe regatta, lined the banks of the creek banging on pots and pans, hoping to drive the fish back to its natural habitat. It was shortly after these efforts began that someone noticed the troubled fish was actually a partially submerged empty bleach bottle that had been used to float a trot line. Then everyone went home.
